Louis Henry Kriescher, age 78 of Shawano, passed away Friday, July 06, 2012 at ManorCare in Shawano. Born on September 9, 1933 in the Town of Waukechon, he was the son of the late Henry and Frances (Pavlat) Kriescher. On October 20, 1962 he was united in marriage to Darlene Schoenick at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, where Louis was a member. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2010. Louis worked on the home farm until his marriage at which time he moved to Shawano and worked for Phoenix Mfg. until his retirement. He then worked as a custodian at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Louis belonged to the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Financial and the American Legion. Louis is survived by: his son, James (Michelle) of Suamico; and his grandchildren, Desireé and Shawn of Kaukauna and Alex of Suamico. He is further survived by: 5 sisters, Bernice Huebner, Florence Onesti, Helen Kriescher, Betty (John) Kadletz of Shawano, Mary (Tom) Mueller of Forestville; a brother, Paul (Lorraine) Kriescher of Shawano; and 2 sisters-in-law, Rose Kriescher of Black Creek and Sue Kriescher of Shawano. Louis was preceded in death by: his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Mary Jane Kriescher; his parents; 3 brothers, James, Tony and Henry; 2 sisters, Ramona and Joan; a sister-in-law, Patricia Kriescher; and 2 brothers-in-law, Marlin Huebner and Carl Onesti. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum with Military Rites conducted by the Shawano American Legion Post #117. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 4-7pm and at the church on Monday after 9:30am until the time of the service.
