Obituary

Louis A. "Sonny" Moses, Sr., age 87 of Berry Lake, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Sonny was born in Keshena on July 14, 1924, son of the late Joseph "Slide" Waukechon and Mary (Moses) Richmond. He married Inez Hunter on March 10, 1944 in Jasper, FL. After spending 15 years in Milwaukee, they moved to the Menominee Indian Reservation and operated their own businesses, Sonny's Store, Sonny's Excavating and The Thunderbird Club. They operated these businesses beginning in 1970 and continued until retiring in 2010. In his younger years, Sonny was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, collecting cars and talking with people that stopped in at the store and restaurant, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, had been a Deputy Sheriff for a short time and had been a Fire Warden in his area, in charge of issuing burning permits. Sonny is survived by: Inez, his loving wife of 68 years, a daughter, Pat (Wilson Dickenson) Moses of Shawano, a son, Richard (Beth) Moses, Sr. of Keshena, a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Kaquatosh of Green Bay, 16 grandchildren, Wanda Moses, Rick Moses, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Moses, Misty (Daniel) Wayka, Dakota (Adriana) Moses, Mc Kayla Moses, Louis (Nicole) Moses III, Tammy (Andrue) Moses Metoxen, Peggy Moses, Trevor (Linda) Moses, Liana Moses, BJ Aragon, Kristi (Craig) Wescott, Bill Parduhn, Bob (Amy) Parduhn, Missy Bezio, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother, Albert W. (Mary) Davis, Jr. of Milwaukee and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
