Lucille Irene Thiel, age 88 of Shawano, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. Lucille was born on May 7, 1933 to the late Harry and Irene (Schaffberger) Carter in Shawano. On October 27, 1951, Lucille was united in marriage to Robert Thiel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Robert preceded Lucille in death on July 3, 2012. Lucille assisted her husband Bob with the family business, "Bob's Carpet Center" and she took great pride in raising her family.  Family was everything to Lucille, she was first and foremost a mom and a grandma, always supportive and never judgmental.  She would put the needs of others before her own and she instilled compassion, a hard work ethic, and a strong moral compass in her five children. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lucille is survived by her children, Mike Thiel of Green Bay, Sue (Mike) Blaha of Shawano, JoAnne (Howie) Hudson of Shawano, Bob (Jamie) Thiel of Shawano, and Lisa (Dave) Wurth of Shawano; grandchildren, Jenna (Derek) Jennerjohn, Nicole Emery, Daniel Hudson, Cody Hudson, Nicholas (Desiree) Thiel, Stephanie (Michael O'Kimosh) Thiel, Lily Wurth, and Jayla Wurth; great-grandchildren, Harper, Hayden, Ayden, Ana, Sorren, Phynn, and Lucille; and two sisters, Shirley Grab of Antigo and Inez Muraski of Arpin. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers-in-law.

A funeral service for Lucille will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Deacon James Lonick officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and again on Monday at the church from 9:30 am until the time of service.
