IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucy
Walker
June 9, 1957 – December 16, 2025
Lucy Walker, age 68, began her journey to the spirt world on December 16, 2025, in Wausau. She was born to the late William and Mary Jane (Van Hammond) Paalman on June 9, 1957, in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
She was a beautiful soul whose life radiated love, warmth, and generosity. Lucy's happiness was contagious, and she gave freely of herself to everyone she met. Family was the center of her world, and she loved them deeply and unconditionally. Her faith in God guided her life and gave her peace. As a proud Native American woman, Lucy carried deep respect for her heritage and took great joy in learning about her genealogy and family history, honoring those who came before her and sharing the history with others.
Lucy loved being outdoors and felt happiest when she was in nature. Traveling was something she truly enjoyed, seeing new places and making memories along the way. Fishing and camping were some of her favorite things to do, especially when she could spend that time relaxing and enjoying the simple beauty around her. Being outside and in nature truly brought her peace.
She was always kind and open to learning new things, and she enjoyed growing and discovering more about the world around her. She had many friends and seemed to know everyone, and everyone knew and loved her in return. She had a special way of making people feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lucy is survived by her children, Jamie Paalman and Jason Walker; grandchildren, Katie Sheppard, Gavin Lorge, Ezra Lorge and Romero Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Melanne Sheppard, Max Laredo and Matilda Dusel; sister, Christine Driessen; special friend, Don "Donman" Cornell; and special niece, Deb Ziesemer. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lucy is preceded in death by her siblings, Louie Kaquatosh, Frank Kaquatosh and Rose Gomeyosh; and parents, William and Mary Jane Paalman.
