Stoltenow

Luella E. Stoltenow, 89, of Bonduel, died November 21, 2022. Luella was born in the Town of Washington, Shawano County, on August 2, 1933, daughter of the late Frank and Frieda (Boerst) Spreeman. She was baptized August 27, 1933, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the Town of Washington, Rev. H. Borchers officiating; her sponsors were Anna Winzenried, Martha Heimer, and Thomas Rasmussen. She was confirmed March 30, 1947, by Rev. Walther J. Plischke at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Her confirmation verse was Philippians 1:2 — Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ .
She attended Bonduel High School and graduated with the class of 1951. On May 15, 1954, she married Eugene Stoltenow in the city of Milwaukee at Sherman Park Lutheran Church. In the 1960s Luella became the first woman elected to the Bonduel Board of Education and served for several years. She worked in secretarial and accounting positions throughout her career. In 2007 Luella retired from Shawano's Aarrowcast Inc. as its finance manager.
Luella loved walking her dog Chia, polka dancing, swimming in the sunshine, shopping, and taking trips to the casino. She was a loving and supportive grandmother and relished every opportunity to connect one-on-one with her great-grandchildren — singing and dancing with them, giving them her necklaces to dress up in, joining in their outside activities in the yard, and reading books. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel.
Luella is survived by one son, Bruce Stoltenow of Bonduel; seven grandchildren: Ryan (Sarah) Stoltenow, Kaila (Mike) Klug, Kelsi (Dan) Petersen, Timothy Stoltenow, Adam Stoltenow, Greg (Julie) Stoltenow, and Jeff (Anne) Stoltenow; and 11 great-grandchildren: Cayden and Graysen Stoltenow, Huxley and Colton Klug, Ruby and Aurora Petersen, Alex and Erin Stoltenow, and George, Kate and Willa Stoltenow.
She is also survived three daughters-in-law: Judy Stoltenow, Kathy Stoltenow, and Debbie Stoltenow Borree; brother Harvey (Karla) Spreeman; and sister-in-law Linda Spreeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her adult twin sons, James and Jerry Stoltenow; her siblings, Gladys Prahl and Floyd Spreeman; and brother-in-law Willard Prahl.
A funeral service for Luella will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 28 th , 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30am until the time of the service.
