Obituary

Lydia Busch, age 94 of Bonduel was received into the loving arms of our Savior on Sept. 13, 2016, surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in the Town of Hartland on January 21st, 1922. She was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Rusch) Luebker. On June 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Clarence Busch. They enjoyed 50 years of married life together. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1997. Lydia attended St. Paul Lutheran School in Bonduel as well as Bonduel High School. Lydia and her husband operated a dairy farm on Hwy 117 in Bonduel, most of their married life. They sold the farm in 1994 and moved to Bonduel.

She was an awesome mother and friend and an inspiration to all. Everyone who met her fell in love with her loving smiles, the twinkle in her eyes, the cute words from her mouth and her graciousness. She was a wonderful Christian role model. Lydia was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and a longtime member of the St. Paul's Ladies Aid. She and her husband delivered church tapes to shut-ins for many years. She was a St. Paul volunteer quilter for many years for the Orphan Grain Train and World Relief. Lydia enjoyed playing cards and was involved in several card clubs. She enjoyed traveling, journaling, gardening and especially her flower gardens. Most of all, she loved being together with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for family gatherings.

Lydia is survived by: three daughters, Karen (Carlos) Gerena of Waukegan, Illinois, Sandy (Bill) Acker of Green Bay and Lori (Ted) Natzke of Bonduel; grandsons, Carlos Gerena Jr., (significant other Sherina Velez), Jon Natzke (significant other Amber Shepard), Nate Natzke, and Josh Natzke; as well as great-grandchildren Gabriel, Kimber and Gracie. She is further survived by: special godchildren, Nancy Schroeder Klein of Moorhead, MN and Lanette Genskow of Suring; two sisters-in-law, Hertha Olson of Bonduel and Violet Busch of Appleton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, two daughters Marlene and Lois Busch, her son Marvin Busch, and special cousin who was more like a sister, Lorraine (Boehlke) Schroeder. Sisters-in-law, Gladys Schmidt, Leona Busch, Irene Kellner, Inez Busch and brothers-in-law Martin Busch, Harold Busch, Gerhardt Busch, Roger Olson and Walter Kellner also preceded her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel with Rev. Mark Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel and again at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School or a charity of your choice.

Our hearts are breaking right now for our temporary loss here on earth, but we know that she is whole again, enjoying a perfect life in heaven and celebrating with family and friends who have gone before her.

The family would like to express a very heartfelt Thank You to Bobbi Jo, Tanya, Liz, Lana, Donna and Beth for the excellent care and compassion shown to our mother over the last 4 years. A special Thank You also to Heartland Hospice and the loving care given, especially by Katie, Tanya and Clara. You all surrounded Mom with love.
