Lyle Robert “Squid” Tourtillott, Sr., age 76, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Shawano surrounded by his family. Lyle was born on April 2, 1950, in Shawano, to the late Laverne and Rose (Heath) Tourtillott, Sr. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1968 and attended welding school. On July 23, 1994, Lyle was united in marriage to Yolanda Reiter in Keshena. He worked in Milwaukee as a welder before retirement and returned to Shawano in 2019. In Lyle’s free time, he enjoyed watching the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers, playing cribbage, hunting, fishing, driving the ATV and being in nature. He was a drummer in the band Indian Echoes for many years. Lyle was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend; he will be deeply missed.
Lyle is survived by his wife of 31 years, Yolanda; children, Julie Tourtillott, Nikki (Andy) Tourtillott, Robert (Laura) Tourtillott, Tracy (Bill) Waubanascum, Ryan (Josie) Neuman, Jerry (Stephanie) Tourtillott and Lyle Tourtillott, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ronnie (Nita) Tourtillott, Renee (John) Stapley and Barbara Tourtillott. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lyle is preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Marie Renner; brother Laverne Tourtillott, Jr.; and parents, Laverne, Sr., and Rose Tourtillott.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 22, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Deacon Mark Fuller officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
