Obituary

Mabel Martha Giese passed away on May 12, 2024, at her home under Hospice Care and also under the care of her two daughters, Lou and Sharon. Mabel was born on September 7, 1927, to the late Herbert and Martha (Martin) Ladwig. She graduated from Bowler High School in 1946. Mabel was united in marriage to Roy Arthur Giese on February 12, 1949, at Peace Lutheran Church, Tilleda. Mabel worked various jobs besides being a homemaker and Mother - she worked in a potato field in Deerbrook, sheared Christmas trees for Vern Felts, fleshed mink for Wiesmann's in Caroline, picked pickles for Lechterman's, worked at Nueske Meats in mail order and picked ginseng for Underground Gems in Wittenberg and she was also a member of Peace Lutheran's Alter Guild and the A.L.C.W.

Mabel is survived by her children, Luella Young, LeRoy (Barb) Giese, Janice Guetschow (friend Jim Schmidt) and Sharon (James) Antoniak and her beloved dog of over 10 years, Rex. She is also survived by her Grandchildren, Randy (Angie) Young, Kathleen Young, Lori Giese, Nicholas (friend Danielle Evans) Giese, Shane Howard, Shelly (friend Chris Grigg), Jesse (Jenny) Zeinert and Great Grandchildren Addison Young, Reece Young, Alyssa Leonard, KayLynn Zeinert, Nicole Zeinert. Mabel is also survived by a Sister-In-Law, Elizabeth Giese and a Brother-In-Law Orville (Sandra) Giese. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Roy of 67 years, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law Frank and Minnie Giese, her two Brothers Earl and Jerry (Pete) Ladwig, her two Sisters Bernice Watter and Ann (Robert) Berghoefer, three Brothers-in-law and Sisters in-law Ruben and Betty Giese, Quentin and Angeline (Giese) Ebert and Otto Giese and two Son-in-laws Roger Young and Todd Guetschow and a Great Grandson, Jaxon Todd Giese.

Mabel's long-life dream was to be a stewardess but she was too short and wore glasses. Mom, now you can spread your wings and fly in Heaven.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to ThedaCare Hospice nurses, Kristi Crum and Jolene Dobizl and to their dear friend, Carolyn Jolitz and to our Aunt Betty - thank you for the treats!

A memorial service for Mabel will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 18, 2024, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tilleda with Jim Hartleben S.A.M. officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 am and continuing until the time of service. Inurnment will be held at the church cemetery following the services.
