Madeline May Kohel, age 52 of Suamico, began her journey to the spirit world on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay. Madeline was born on February 23, 1968 to the late Anthony Sr. and Shirley (LaMotte) Kohel in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Flandreau Indian School and the College of Menominee Nation. Madeline enjoyed going to play bingo at the casino. She was an amazing woman who was loved by many. Madeline loved her family and grandchildren dearly and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Madeline is survived by her children, Misty Sanapaw, Mitchell (Rachel) Kohel, and Larissa Lucas; grandchildren, Alex, Rihanna, Jasmine, Savannah, Devan, Leilani, and Kyliah; significant other, William Brisk; and her siblings, Brenda Kohel, Jeffrey (LeeAnn) Wychesit, Anthony Kohel, Jr., and Crystal (Scott) Whitcraft. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and special friend Dave Pinnow.
A funeral service for Madeline will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 12, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Peggy Pamanet Residence, N567 Brooks Lane, Keshena, beginning at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 until the time of procession to the church on Friday.
