Magdalen M. Bartz, age 90 of the Town of Belle Plaine, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on December 9, 1921 in the Town of Belle Plaine, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Dillenburg) Brunner. Magdalen grew up on the family farm in the Town of Belle Plaine and later lived in the Milwaukee area where she did bookwork for the army office. In October of 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert J. Bartz in Shawano. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Belle Plaine. Magdalen was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Magdalen is survived by: her 2 sons, Kenneth (Paulette "Polly") Bartz of Shawano, John Bartz of Shawano; 2 grandchildren, Marvin (Sharin) Bartz of Shawano, Myron Bartz of Shawano; 3 great-grandchildren, Katherine, Caroline and William Bartz; 5 siblings, Michael (Darla) Brunner of Shawano, Martin Brunner of Shawano, Ann Brunner of Shawano, Margaret Adams of Pella, Mary Ann (Jerry) Steiber of Wausau; 7 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Carol Brunner of Shawano, Carl (Betty) Bartz of Shawano, Howard (Donna) Bartz of Shawano, Lois List of Ladysmith, Imogene Bartz of Cecil, Marilyn Blanke of Clintonville, Phyllis (Franklin "Bud") Boldig of Menasha; and numerous nieces and nephews. Magdalen was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert in July of 1990; her parents; 6 siblings, Frances (Darwin) Lieg, Elizabeth (Henry) Jeske, Anton Brunner, Frank Brunner, George Brunner, John Brunner; and 3 brothers-in-law, Elmer List, Roger Bartz and Raymond Blanke. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Cemetery in the Town of Belle Plaine. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday after 9:30am until the time of the service.
