Marcel Kevin "Wākosaeh" Waukau, age 19, of Keshena, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2021, in Keshena. Marcel was born in Shawano on October 26, 2001, to Mark Waukau Jr. and Elizabeth Osuch. He graduated from Menominee Indian High School in 2020. Marcel had a contagious smile, a great sense of humor and an easy-going personality. He loved to make people laugh. Marcel enjoyed playing basketball, video games, traveling, sightseeing, following boxing, spending time outdoors and swimming in the Menominee lakes. More than anything, Marcel loved spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved the family cookouts.
Marcel is survived by: his parents, Mark Waukau, Jr. and Elizabeth (Raymond Tourtillott) Osuch; siblings, Niko Pocan, Hilary Waukau, Sade Osuch, Mattea Escalante, Isaiah Escalante, Deangelo Escalante, Monae Waukau, Markala Waukau, Mark Waukau III, Saesha Waukau, Maceo Waukau and Kateri Alvarado; special mom and dad, Arlene and Gerald Wayka, Sr.; grandparents, Saleda Chantel A. Byerly and David Osuch, Mark Waukau, Sr., and Katherine White; special siblings, Arlyne (Jeff) Wayka, James "Son-Son" Wayka, Arleen "Dolly" Wayka, Joyce (Ronco) Wayka, Sassy (Tee-Jay) Wayka and Jake (Lindsay) Wayka; numerous cousins including special cousins, Ryan Waukau, Mitchell Waukau, Shavonne Corn, Nashaye Fish and Ahkostean Corn. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by: his siblings, Angel Lynn Mendoza-Waukau, Lilly Ann Waukau and Matthew Escalante Jr.
Traditional services for Marcel will be held at the Wayka residence, W2821 Lakeview North/Mae Kinney Kenew Chevalier Ln., in Keshena from 1:00 pm on Monday, June 14, 2021, until the procession leaves for St. Anthony Cemetery at noon on Wednesday, June 16, 2021.
