Margaret J. Johnson, age 74, formerly a longtime Shawano resident and currently of Aster Assisted Living Center in Clintonville, passed away and entered Heaven on October 5, 2018. In accordance with her wishes, a private family celebration of her life will be held.

Marge was born September 20, 1944. She was raised by her loving foster parents, Ernest and Joyce Kiesling of Pittsville, WI. She attended Pittsville High School and met and married her high school sweetheart, Evan Johnson. They were married on April 13, 1962.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Evan, and sons Don (Traci) Johnson of Tomahawk, Dan (Jean) Johnson of Green Bay, Brian (Kris) Johnson of Shawano, and Bruce (Lena) Johnson of Clintonville. Marge and Evan were blessed with 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Marge is further survived by her sister-in-law Marlene (Don) Neve of Pittsville, a brother Robert Connor of Orlando, FL, foster brother Gerald (Bonnie) Winch of Siren, WI, an aunt Thelma Connor of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by foster parents Ernest and Joyce Kiesling, in-laws Raymond and Beryl Johnson of Pittsville, sister-in-law Patti Connor, and uncle Anderson Connor.

Marge devoted a majority of her life to raising her four sons and being a devoted wife. She took great pride in raising, along with her husband, their sons and ensured they were prepared for all of life's challenges. She was well known for her cooking and baking skills, sharing many of her desserts and meals with friends and neighbors. Many of the Johnson boy's friends referred to Marge as their second mom. One of her great joys was putting together a family cookbook with all her favorite "secret" recipes. A gift that was shared by her with all family members.
