Obituary

Margaret E. (nee Newton) Moffatt, age 66 of Shawano, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 17, 1946 in Neopit, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica (Crowe) Newton. She later married Al Moffatt in Illinois; he preceded her in death in 1988. Margaret enjoyed being a homemaker and took pride in raising her children. She loved spending time with them and later with her grandchildren as well. She also enjoyed crafting, doing beadwork, sewing and canvassing as well as riding motorcycles. Margaret was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved cheering for them while they were playing and clipping any and all newspaper articles about them. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. Margaret is survived by: 2 daughters, Kim (Duane) Schultz of Cecil, Pamela (Patrick) Hart of Genoa City; 5 grandchildren, Zachary Earl, Hope Santos and Krystal, Heather and Sarah Hart; and 5 siblings, John Newton of Keshena, Rose Hall, Elizabeth "Betty" Zandar and Rick (Gloria) Newton all of Downy, CA, and Shirlee (Bill) Gray of McHenry, IL. Margaret was preceded in death by: her husband, Al; her parents; 5 siblings, Billy, Gene, Carol, Edward and Rochelle; and a sister-in-law, Alice Newton. A memorial gathering will be held at on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Shawano from 5:00-7:00pm. Inurnment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in the spring.
