Obituary

Margaret "Maggie" (Brandt) Anderson, age 78, of Shawano, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 in Appleton. She was born on March 31, 1940 in Townsend, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Elvin and Rosa Lena (Feldt) Brandt.  She was a 1958 graduate of Antigo High School.  Maggie was united in marriage to Thomas Raymond Anderson on October 11, 1986 in Shawano.  Maggie's children witnessed enormous strength, patience and kindness from their mom on a daily basis, as she raised her four children on her own.  She had a huge heart which was noticed not only by her family, but often by the friends she welcomed to Christmas Eve, which she treated with an open door policy.  Many may remember Maggie from Circle C Ranch, the Cotton Patch Supper Club, along with Pick 'N Save, until her retirement.  She enjoyed volunteering and was very active in the Shawano community as a Charter Member of Shawano Lake Lioness, Junior Achievement, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and assisting with the backpack program.  Maggie was a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano, where she was also a member of the Ladies' Aid.  She also cherished her time with the Red Hatters and Birthday Club.

She is survived by her four children, Terry (Craig) Adelbush and their children, Rose and Wesley; Sharon (Tom) Fischer and their son, Christopher (Jill); Dawn Smith and her children, Linda and Joseph; Jeff (Carol) Smith and their son, Jordan; her special dog, Missy; as well as numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Maggie is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; and her brother, Marvin Elvin Brandt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church with Rev. Wolf B. Parsons officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.  Inurnment will be held in Lake Drive Cemetery at a later date.  A memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at ManorCare of Appleton and Divine Savior Lutheran Church for their care and compassion.
