Obituary

Margie B. Johnson, 86, of Eau Claire, WI began her heavenly journey on Thursday, July 31, 2014, under the loving care of the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her daughters by her side. Joining her "big brother" Bobby on February 9, 1928, Margie is the daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Reinhardt) Benjamin. Margie lived in Nelson, Maxville Prairie, and Arcadia, where she graduated from high school in 1946 with the other "Chicks of 46," her life-long friends. After graduation she continued her education in Milwaukee in medical technology and worked in her field for several doctors in Eau Claire, including Dr. R. A. Buckley and Karl E. Walter. On Christmas Day in 1948, Margie married the love of her life, Raymond Johnson, and they had a joyful life together for the next 65 years. Margie loved her girls, Jane Rae and Amy Lou, and was a wonderful wife and mom. She loved to travel claiming Hawaii as her favorite destination. She enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, playing bridge, shopping and spending time with her family. Margie is survived by: her husband, Raymond J; her girls, Jane Rae (Roger) Dale and Amy Lou (Fred) Zimmer; nieces, Susie Zuech, Linda Larson; special cousins, Marie Lindoo, Mary Lou Gadwill; as well as numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Bob and his wife Kay; and her mother and father-in-law, Aagot and Art Johnson. Greeting Margie on the Rainbow Bridge will be Chico, Mistletoe, Jackie, Ashley and Beaugardt, her beloved fur babies. Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the Lenmark, Gomsrud and Linn Funeral Home at 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, WI 54701. Visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 until the time of the service. Please direct memorials to the Humane Society of Eau Claire, Trinity Lutheran Church Food Pantry in Eau Claire, WI or ROADS (Reaching out about Depression and Suicide), 518 West 5th St, Shawano, WI 54166. The family would like to thank the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their loving care and support throughout Mom's 2 year stay at the facility, as well as to all the wonderful and sensitive caregivers, especially Joann (whom mom loved so much and she loved right back).
