Obituary

Marie Vogelsang, age 84, of Gresham passed away on January 19, 2018 at home, with her family by her side. Marie was born on June 8, 1933 in the town of Red Springs to the late Peter and Alice (Williams) Peters.

Marie graduated from beauty school and worked in Milwaukee with her sister Besse. She married Ernest Vogelsang on July 15, 1961 in Morgan Siding. They lived in California for over 40 years, returning to Gresham in 2002. She was a member of the Old Stockbridge Presbyterian Church. In her spear time, she enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting.

Marie is survived by: her husband, Ernest Vogelsang, Gresham; her children, Brian (Peggy) Vogelsang, Gresham, Toni (Kevin) Henderson, Visalia, CA and Bradley Vogelsang Visalia, CA. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Besse (Wayne) Hetzer Gresham and Helen Beyer who passed away on January 20, 2018.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, a son, John, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Old Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, Morgan Siding. Pastor Micah Shin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the church form 11:30 am until the time of service.
