Marie Zalaznik, 88, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017, surrounded by her husband and children. She died peacefully, at home in Shawano.
Marie was born on May 6, 1928 in Waukegan, Illinois to John and Margaret (Svete) Repp. She later lived and raised her family in North Chicago, Illinois before moving to Legend Lake in 1988 and her current home in Shawano in 2006. She was a wonderful wife and mother, a great cook, fantastic baker and a voracious reader. Everyone who knew her loved her, and with good reason. She will be intensely missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Fred; daughter, Janet (Marty) Anderson of Mount Prospect, IL and Legend Lake; sons, Larry (Debbie) of Walla Walla, WA, Gerry of Pleasant Prairie, WI and John (Grace Anderson) of Dufur, OR.; and sisters, Marge Heaphy and Roseann Jerdee, both of Illinois.
She is further survived by: her grandchildren, Anna (Jared) Petersen of Minnesota, Dr. Martin (Dr. Chelsea Dorsey) Anderson, Jr of Illinois, David (Allison) Anderson of Illinois, Cara (Fred) Hoppe of Franksville, Alex (Deanna) Zalaznik of Oregon, Tony Zalaznik of Pleasant Prairie, Rachel Zalaznik of Kenosha; and great grandchildren, Kamryn Hoppe, Vada Petersen, Wyatt Anderson, Mayim Petersen and Evelynn Hoppe and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her brothers, John Jr, Richard and Frank Repp and her parents.
Memorial services for Marie will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Keshena with Rev. Luke Ferris officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in the spring so that Marie's family and friends who are out of town will be able to attend and pay their respects. Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, the Salvation Army or St. Jude Hospital.
