Obituary

Marilyn Janamae Thiede, age 85 of Shawano, went to meet the Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Born on July 4, 1931, in Chicago, she is the daughter of the late John F. and Leona (Helke) Thiede. Marilyn was in the hospitality field for many years and was involved in many community oriented committees and activities, both in Shawano and Wausau. She was a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church for several years, where she enjoyed Bible study and participating in various church activities. Crafts, cards and cooking were also favorites of Marilyn's. For many years she was a Watkins dealer.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Merriel (Alfred) Niles of Shawano; her brother, John Thiede, Jr. of Yuma, AZ; and her brother-in-law, Harold Kottke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as many good friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Merceda Kottke.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Divine Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Kurt Kluge officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
