Obituary

Marion Gangler, age 88 of Gresham, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 in Shawano. Born on July 10, 1923 in Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Cora Strnad. Marion lived most of her life in Gresham. On July 22, 1939 Marion was united in marriage to Merle Gangler and the couple farmed in the Town of Red Springs and the Town of Almon. Merle preceded her in death on August 27, 1990. Marion was a member of the Old Stockbridge Presbyterian Church in Morgan Siding where she was the Vice President of the Mary-Martha Society and was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She is survived by: her daughters, Marion Peters of Gresham, Rita (Art) Buelter of Bowler, Patricia (Ronnie) Onesti of Wittenberg; a foster son, Malcolm Spiegel; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Anton and Cora and her husband, Merle, Marion was preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Albert Peters; and a foster son, Carl Gangler. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at the Old Stockbridge Presbyterian Church in Morgan Siding with the Rev. Karl E. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service.
