Mark Anthony Pyawasay, age 68, passed away on Wednesday April 17, 2024, peacefully surrounded by his family in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mark was born on May 29, 1955, in Keshena to the late Lloyd M. Gauthier and Carole J. Pyawasay. He graduated from high school. Mark worked in home building construction for many years. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. In Mark's free time, he enjoyed western movies, going to the casino, watching NASCAR, taking rides in the woods and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mark loved blueberry pie and "a good bourbon and a cigar". He believed the traditional practices.
Mark is survived by his children, Samantha Jo Marie Pyawasay, Monica Marie Padilla and Arlin Cox, Sr.; grandchildren, Antonio Jose, Nyomi Lissette, Gianna, Nevayah, Angelica, Precious Rose, Javier, Elizabeth, Idahlia, Layla, Sapatis, Jeffery and Shawn; great-grandchildren, Nyla Amari, Nataēh Armani, Feliz and Ismael; siblings, Lloyd (Donna) Gauthier, Jr., Oran (Brenda) Gauthier, Mitzi King, Douglas Gauthier, Bernard Gauthier, Melissa Gauthier, Lars Gauthier, Jana (Dale) Karbow, Torriea Gauthier, Darren Gauthier and Lonna (Mark) Oshkeshequoam. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, including special nephew Mark Anthony, his name's sake, other relatives and friends.
Mark is preceded in death by his son, John A. Kassube; sister, Beverly K. Gauthier; and parents, Lloyd and Carole.
Traditional services for Mark will be held at the Mitzi King Residence at W2681 Chief WIS-KE-NOH, Keshena starting on Friday April 19, 2024, at 4:00 pm and continuing until the time of procession on Sunday April 21, 2024, at 1:00 pm. Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mitzi King for her loving care for the past several years.
