Obituary

Marlin E. Dey, age 73 of Gresham, passed away after a two year battle with cancer and heart disease on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Shawano Medical Center with his family by his side. Born on March 16, 1939 in Shawano, he was the son of the late August and Marie (Schwenke) Dey. On June 13, 1959 he was united in marriage to Darlene Jaeger in Gillett. Marlin was a member of the Elias Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman where he was on the church council for more than 25 years. He lived in the Two Rivers area for about 20 years while working for Mirro Aluminum in Manitowoc building boats. In 1977 he returned to his home farm where he farmed for a while until going back to work at Mirro Boats in Gillett for another 20 years. Marlin loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, especially taking them fishing, and he always looked forward to the family vacation in June. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and watching birds. Marlin could tell you the name of almost every bird. Marlin is survived by: his loving wife of 53 years, Darlene; their 3 children, Deb (Carl) Trinko of Bowler, Connie (Franco) DeyMarcos of Middleton, Doug Dey of Gresham; 3 grandchildren, Wes Trinko of Oshkosh, Tijler and Tkaya DeyMarcos of Middleton; and a great-grandson, Drayke Trinko of Oshkosh. He is further survived by: a sister, Betty (Otto) Giese of Bowler; a brother, Vernon (Delores) Dey of Gillett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marlin was preceded in death by: his grandson, Travis Trinko; his parents; step-father, Conrad Berdoll; his in-laws, Herman and Hattie Jaeger; and a sister-in-law, Carol Jaeger. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Elias Lutheran Church in the Town of Herman with the Rev. Dennis Creswell and the Rev. Doug Heling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be held at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham on Friday from 4-8pm and at the church on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service. The family would likie to thank everyone for the prayers and cards.
