Martin E. Goers, age 65 of California, formerly of Shawano, passed away September 1, 2012 in San Diego County, CA. Born on September 22, 1946 in Shawano, he was the son of the late Ernest and Inez (Erdman) Goers. In 1977 Martin moved to California where he worked for AC/DC Electronic Company. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Oceanside where he was an elder, sang in the choir and was a member of the Bible study and the evangelism team. In his free time, Martin enjoyed reading, walking, fishing, listening to music and playing his harmonica. Martin is survived by: his brother, David (Marilyn) Goers of Shawano; his twin brother, Marshall (Ruth) Goers of Marshfield; his sister, Jeanne (Robert) Braatz of Appleton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the St. John's Lutheran Church-Hermansfort with the Rev. Roland Golz officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of the service.
