Marvin Wallace Smith, age 82 of the Town of Waukechon, passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at a local nursing home. Born on May 18, 1930 in the Town of Waukechon, he was the son of the late Louis and Ella (Klosterman) Smith. Marvin was born and raised on the family farm in the Town of Waukechon and attended Bonduel High School. After high school, Marvin enlisted with the United States Army and served his country for several years. He then returned to the family farm where he continued to live until three years ago when he moved to Shawano. Marvin also worked at Phenix Doors for many years. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church in Bonduel and the Bonduel American Legion Post #217. In his free time, he enjoyed farming, cutting wood, deer hunting and making maple syrup. Marvin is survived by: a sister-in-law, Elaine Smith; a niece, Debbie (Mark) Boerst; nephew, Ron Smith; 2 great nephews, Shawn (Amanda) Boerst and their son Evan, Jarod Boerst; and a great niece, Madeline Smith. Marvin was preceded in death by: his parents; a brother, Harvey Smith; and a sister, Dorothy in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with the Rev. Jerry Cho officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Bonduel American Legion Post #217. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday after 9:00am until the time of the service.
