Obituary
Mary R. Anderson, age 83, of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 in Shawano.
Mary was born in Arcadia, S.C. on May 5, 1933, the daughter of the late Adam and Allie (Beach) Sosbee.
She was known throughout Shawano as "Grandma Mary" and could often be found volunteering in the community for the Shawano Hockey League or Olga Brener School.
Mary was recently recognized by the Shawano School District with a Hawk Way Award.
She is member of Church on the Hill in Shawano.
Mary is survived by:
her daughter, Karen (Lamont Houston) Smith of Shawano; two grandsons, Garrett (Samantha Dart) Smith and Alex Smith; one great-grandson, Rylan Dart; two step-sons, Douglas (Marilyn) Anderson of Colorado and Brady Anderson of Shawano.
She is further survived by her four siblings, Pete, Herman, Francis, Betsy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Anderson, her parents, and five brothers and sisters.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Church on the Hill in Shawano with Rev. Susan Phillips officiating.
Visitation will be held at church on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and again on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
