IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Christine
Banaszak
December 13, 1949 – February 4, 2025
Mary Christine Banaszak (née Gillessen), born on December 13, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, in Pulcifer, Wisconsin. Mary was 75 years old.
Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Sagert) Gillessen, Sr. Mary grew up in a close-knit family. She was the youngest of her seven siblings Gerri, Dickie, Donny, Margie, Jimmy, Jr. and Bobby. On February 10, 1979, Mary was united in marriage to Joe Banaszak in Milwaukee. Joe preceded her in death in 1996. Throughout her life, Mary cherished the bonds she shared with her family and friends.
Mary is survived by her loving daughter Shirley (Brad) Werner; her grandson Adam (Crystal) Werner; and her great-grandsons Ashton and Xander Werner. She also leaves behind her brothers Dickie and Jr. as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and siblings Bobby, Donny, Jimmy, Gerri, and Margie.
Mary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending time on her back deck with her dog Alphie, watching the birds that visited her yard—a peaceful pastime that brought her great happiness. Family was at the heart of everything Mary did; she treasured every moment spent with them, especially her great-grandsons. Her creative spirit shone through in her painting and more recently with her ceramics projects shared with her dear friend Pam. The holiday season held special meaning for Mary as she traveled to Michigan to celebrate the Christmas season with cherished friends Eilene and Judy (Tom).
In accordance with Mary's wishes, private family services were held.
Mary Christine Banaszak will be missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
