Mary Ruth (Bast) Delaney, formerly of Cecil, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Elm Grove, Wisconsin. Mary was born November 12, 1923 in Cecil, daughter of the late Walter and Martha (Schultz) Bast.  Mary was a graduate of Cecil State Grade School and Bonduel High School.  After high school she moved with her mother and father to Milwaukee where she met her future husband Bernie.  Mary was united in marriage to Bernard Delaney on December 28, 1943 in South Carolina where Bernie was stationed with the United States Army.  The couple lived in Milwaukee where Mary worked for Kohl's Department Store before retiring in 1979.  Following retirement the couple moved to Cecil.  Mary was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Cecil.

Mary is survived by: two sons, Joseph and wife Bonnie Delaney and William and wife Dianna Delaney; three granddaughters, Erin Delaney, Kelly and her husband Tim Westendorf, and Shannon and her husband Sam Sova. Mary also had six great grandchildren, John, Micah, Benjamin, Makenna Westendorf, and Max and Miles Sova. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bernie; her parents; and her siblings.

A memorial service for Mary will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil with Deacon Mike Grezca officiating. Inurnment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Shawano.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home in Cecil on Thursday from 2:00pm until the time of the service.
