Mary Lynne Fuhr, age 78, passed away on July 20, 2024, at her home in Shawano. Lynne was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 9, 1945, to the late Carl and Marie (Gabelbauer) Hauge. Lynne grew up in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. Following school she worked as a telephone switchboard operator where she met her future husband. On June 20, 1968, Lynne was united in marriage to James "Jim" Fuhr in Hawaii. Lynne worked as a waitress while raising her family, retiring in 2005. Lynne and Jim enjoyed traveling together and did extensive travelling in Europe and Asia as well as a 42 day cruise to Europe, Africa, and back.  They also made several memorable trips to Hawaii together. Lynne was an extremely creative and artistic woman who found joy in photography and painting. In her free time, she also enjoyed quilting, reading, writing, journaling and sending letters to friends. She had a very special place in her heart for her cats, Petunia and Little Kitty.  Lynne was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Lynne is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim; children, Mike Fuhr and Sharla (Mike) Bale; two grandchildren, Kaylie and Evan; and two step granddaughters, Hannah (Mark) and Emilia (McKinley).

Lynne is preceded in death by a son, John, in infancy and her parents, Carl and Marie.

A Celebration of Life for Mary Lynne Fuhr will be held on August 10th,2024 at The Lighthouse Bar and Grill in Shawano. Friends and relatives are welcome to pay their respects anytime between 11am to 3pm and enjoy a buffet/lunch and refreshments. Please pass this information on to anyone else (family and friends) who would like to attend. I n lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Shawano County Humane Society.
