Mary Delores Kempinski, age 67 of the Town of Washington, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Shawano. Born on March 24, 1945 in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Elenore (Kozaczek) Davy. Mary lived in the Jefferson and Fort Atkinson areas and graduated from Fort Atkinson High School. After graduating from college, Mary worked at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a Benefits Supervisor, retiring in 1993. On June 28, 1985 she was united in marriage to Thomas Kempinski in Waukesha. In 2002 the couple starting spending their weekends in the Shawano area and in 2006 made it their permanent home. Mary was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was active in the Human Concerns Committee and at the Sunday nursery classroom. He was also a member of Children, Inc. and was a Children International Sponsor. Mary is survived by: her husband, Thomas; a daughter, Lori (Kenneth) Grauerholz of Great Bend, KS; her mother-in-law, Virginia Glan of Shawano; 2 sisters, Margaret Bermannis of Twin Oaks, CA, Rose (Luis) Unate of Fort Atkinson; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Len Evers officiating.
