Mary J. Koepsell, age 69, of Shawano passed away on Saturday February 14, 2026, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Mary was born on December 14, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Frederick W. and Mildred H. (Schroeder) Gille, Sr. On June 30, 1984, Mary was united in marriage to Bruce Koepsell at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Mary loved everyone and was great with kids. She owned and operated Busy-Bee Daycare in Shawano for many years before selling the business in 2017 and retiring. In her free time, Mary enjoyed 4 wheeling and spending time enjoying nature. She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. Mary was also a talented golfer and enjoyed playing regularly. She was a fan of Vic Ferrari and attended numerous shows. Mary's children and grandchildren were everything to her and she loved and cherished the many memories she made with them. Mary was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother "Mema", sister and friend, she will be deeply missed.
Mary is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bruce; sons, Jason (Mandi) Koepsell and Brandon Koepsell; grandchildren, Avery and Carter; and siblings, Laura Gille and Michael (Lisa) Gille. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary is preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Gille and Frederick Gille, Jr.; and parents, Frederick, Sr., and Mildred Gille.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday February 28, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano in the spring. In lieu of flowers Mary requested memorials directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
