Mary Therese Schweitzer, age 70, passed away on Saturday February 3, 2024.  Mary was born in Sheboygan on August 8, 1953, to the late Frank and Doris (Helf) Mikolic.  She was united in marriage to Gregory Schweitzer and was blessed with having one son, her pride and joy as she always said, Nicholas Schweitzer.  Mary spent nearly half her life, 34 years,  teaching 1st grade  in Chilton School District, where she was known for treating all her students like they were her own children.  Mary lived a wonderful life spending most of her time in between Chilton, WI at her home and Cecil, WI at her favorite place formerly known as the cottage.  She loved to enjoy her glasses, aka bottles, of wine. Friday night fish and Spa day was always her special treat.  She truly loved the water and taking many, many pontoon rides on beautiful Shawano Lake.  Mary was a "walker" and took her dog Sasha out every day.  Mary loved to travel, she was especially fond of all her fancy incentive trips with her son Nick and the many exotic trips with her brother Joe as well as her yearly trips to Mexico with Charlie.  Mary truly loved being a grandma and spoiling her granddaughters, Addysan and Finley, with presents and reading to them every moment she could.

Mary is survived by her son, Nicholas (Lyndsay) Schweitzer; step-granddaughter, Addysan Smith; granddaughter, Finley Schweitzer; three "older" brothers Robert (Patricia) Mikolic, Joseph Mikolic, and Thomas Mikolic; brother-in-law Dan (Kendra) Schweitzer; Partner Charlie Ulfig; her dog Sasha.

Mary will be reunited with and was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Schweitzer; parents Frank and Doris Mikolic; and mother & father in laws Howard and Delores Schweitzer.

Mary was known to have treated everyone she met with a caring and joyful attitude.  In honor of Mary, a gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 17th, 2024, at Waverly Beach in Menasha.  The gathering will begin at noon and conclude with a time of sharing at 2:30pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to cancer research.
