Mary Louise Waupoose, age 50 of Keshena, began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at her home. She was born to Clifford and Beatrice Olson, Sr. on September 15, 1972 in Chicago, IL. Mary was a graduate of the Chemawa Indian Boarding School in Oregon. She worked for Menominee Head Start for several years as a bus driver. On July 14, 2000, Mary was united in marriage to Duane Waupoose Sr. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2019. Mary enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Duane Jr. (Marcella) Waupoose, Derek Waupoose, Dustin Waupoose and Dante (Isabella) Waupoose; six grandchildren, Duane III, Wanāēwanet, Malaki, McCoy, Wāpanūkīw, and Penāēsikwēw; and siblings, Clifford, Jr. and AWaehSaeh.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Donavon and Shelly.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the family residence, N640 Chief Little Crow Road, Keshena until the time the procession leaves for the church on Friday.
