Matthew John Seestedt, age 70, of Keshena passed away on Saturday September 20, 2025, at his home. Matt was born on November 17, 1954, in Shawano, son of the late Clare and Rita Ann (Keshena) Seestedt. Matt graduated from high school in Los Angeles. He worked as a vault cashier at the Menominee Casino for the last 30 years before retiring earlier this year. He was an avid reader and an extremely intelligent man. He knew a lot about many topics including sports, movies, and music. In his free time, he enjoyed gambling, spending a night out at Luigi's, watching Jeopardy, or reading Rolling Stone Magazine. He will be deeply missed by those he leaves behind.
Matt is survived by the love of his life, Roberta Grignon, with whom he spent the last 30 years; stepchildren, Jerry (Jean) Grignon, Jackie (Rod) Grignon and Derrick Grignon; step grandchildren, Josh Gauthier, Clint Gauthier, Jacoby Grignon, Anahakosha Grignon, Leshon Parker and Khyla Grignon; seven great-grandchildren; special great-granddaughters, Eretria Grignon and Amria Gauthier; niece, Rian Seestedt; siblings, Lynn, Candy and Leslie; and the second love of his life, his German Shepherd, Teela, his baby.
Matt is preceded in death by his siblings, Henry "Hank" (Barbara), Lisa and Walker; nephew, Walker; and parents, Clare and Rita.
A Memorial Mass for Matt will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena with Fr. Hanz Christian officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday beginning at 9:30 am and continue until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
