Matthew Tourtillott, age 71, of Keshena/Shawano, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. Matthew was born on December 11, 1947, in Keshena, to the late Russell "Cut" and Georgia (Richards) Tourtillott. He graduated from Shawano High School in 1965. Upon graduation Matthew enlisted in the United States Air Force, he served for 20 years before retiring. On September 25, 1971, Matthew was united in marriage to Sharon Duquain in Keshena. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Keshena. In his spare time Matthew enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Matthew is survived by: his wife, Sharon; his children, Matthew "JR" Tourtillott, Marie Tourtillott, and Mike Tourtillott all of Shawano; one grandson, Quain Tourtillott; his siblings, a twin, Arthur (Kathy) Tourtillott of California, Mae Tourtillott of Gresham, and Patrick (Roberta) Tourtillott of Neopit; Sharon's family, Karen (Jack) Pasterski of DePere, Judy (Bert) Lyons of Keshena, Jean Corn of Keshena, Doug Duquain of Keshena, Carol (Steve) Schils of Green Bay, Patti Duquain of Keshena, William "Duke" (Renee) Duquain of Suring, Dawn King of Green Bay, Robin Penass of Maryland, and Tony Duquain of Keshena; he is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Georgia Tourtillott.
A prayer service for Matthew will be held at 6:00 pm, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Followed by military rites conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Neopit. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
