Maxine M. Colson, age 63 of Shawano, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1949 in Shawano. Maxine lived her entire life in Shawano where she was a swim instructor for the Shawano Park & Rec. for 20 years. She also worked as a play ground supervisor for the Olga Brener Elementary School for 20 years. On February 5, 1972 she was united in marriage to Craig L. Colson in Shawano. Maxine was a member of the Hope Community Church. Maxine is survived by: her husband, Craig; 2 stepchildren, Kimberly (Brian) Ready of Gresham, Brian Colson of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren, Melissa, Joshua, Brandon; and a brother, Marshal Engel of MN. Maxine was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Engel. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. John Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00pm until the time of the service.
