Melanie Firgens, age 57, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 in Milwaukee. Melanie was born in Oconto Falls on December 15, 1962, daughter of Julia "June" Corn and the late Eugene Firgens.  As the youngest of eight, she was always a mama's girl.  Melanie was a very genuine and generous person who showed compassion and kindness to everyone she came in contact with.  She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh, with you or at you, it didn't matter to her.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter and sister and she treasured spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Melanie is survived by: four children, Edwardine Garcia of South Branch, John (Elizabeth) Dess III of Green Bay, Natana (Joseph) Lara of Green Bay, and Derrick (Jessica) Dess of Green Bay; grandchildren, Shayliyah, Rayven, Shawdine, Terrinse, Eugene, Johnny, Alex "Sal", Gabe, Jordan, Logan, Lily, Sophia, Ethan, Alex, Jayden, Nabria, Dominic, and a grandson, Dayson on the way; five great grandchildren; her mother, Julia "June" Corn of Keshena; siblings, Candice Firgens, Kenneth Firgens, Eleanor (Richard) Olson, Iris (Tom Jonet) Firgens, Patrick (Patricia) Firgens, Roger Corn, and sister-in-law, Mary Firgens. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: a grandson, Raymond; her father, Eugene; and a brother, Michael.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the June Corn Residence, N4541 Hwy 55, Keshena, just before Smokey Falls, Rev. Matt Golie will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph of the Lake Cemetery in South Branch.  Visitation will be held at the house starting at 5:00pm on Sunday, July 12, 2020 until the time of the service on Tuesday.
