Michael Lee Bergner, age 65, passed away on May 15, 2022, at his home in Cecil. He was born on October 24, 1956 to the late Alfred "Jack" and Jeannette (Schmit) Bergner in Oconto Falls. He graduated from Gillett High School. Michael joined the United States Marine Corp. in 1975 and was stationed in Vietnam, Okinawa Japan and Germany. He spent much of his military career on board a ship. When he retired from the military, Michael returned to the Cecil area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and off-road racing. He also enjoyed riding his Harley.

He is survived by his children, Chris (Tonya) Otto, Jesse Bergner and Heather Bergner; grandchildren, Kara, Karisa, Shelby, Brayden, Hunter, Bow and Sage; great-grandson, Huxley; brother, Roger Trepanier; sister, Carol ("Shorty") Gunderson; and sister-in-law, Sharon.

Michael is preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Richard, Alfred, Jr.; his parents, and sister-in-law, Cindy.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Swedberg Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil with Mr. Richard Menning officiating. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home following the service. Visitation will be held at 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
