Michael Lee "Mike" Krause age 65, of Shawano, passed away on April 24, 2025. Mike was born in Appleton on August 2, 1959 to Llew and Judy (Kolosso) Krause. Mike lived in Seymour in his youth and moved to Legend Lake in 1974. Mike graduated from Shawano High School in 1977.
Mike followed in his father's footsteps and started his own construction business, United Crafts, in 1981. Mike was a very skilled craftsman and took great pride in his work.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, shooting pool, Sheepshead and doing crosswords. Mike loved watching the Packers, Brewers and NASCAR. Mike was a jokester and always enjoyed telling a good joke to make people laugh. Most of all, Mike loved his family and would do anything for them. He will be dearly missed.
Left to honor Mike's memory are: his wife of 45 years, Sheri Krause; his sons, Bradley Krause and Nicholas Krause (Jaclyn); his parents, Llew and Judy Krause; his brother, Bob Krause; his sister Dana Krause (Mike "Turtle" Tourtillott); his mother-in-law, Amy Brandt; Brothers-in-law, Tom Brandt (Terri) and Timothy Brandt (Christy). He is further survived by his nieces and nephews Ryan and Taylor Krause, and Austin and Megan Dillenburg.
Mike is preceded in death by: his grandparents, Dan and Margaret Kolosso and Earl and Louise Krause; his father-in-law Jerry Brandt; his sister-in-law Karen Burghardt.
A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday May 1, 2025, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Dick Menning officiating. Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:00 pm until the time of service.
The family invites all patrons to wear Packer, Brewers, or NASCAR apparel in honor of Mike.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like all monetary donations to be made out to the family. These donations will be given to the Shawano Community High School Building Trades Program.
