Milton "Jigger" Charles Delabrue, age 82, passed away at home on Saturday February 25, 2023. He was born on November 28, 1940, to the late Charles and Mary Jane (Kakwitch) Delabrue in Keshena. Jigger lived in Chicago for 47 years and worked at the W. F. Hall Printing Company until moving back to Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Marlene Dickie on October 28, 1961, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit. He went on to own his parents' house and lived a happy and fulfilling life with his wife. When he was able, he liked to hunt and fish. Jigger especially found pleasure in the comradery that was shared after the hunt, where he could laugh and tell stories with his family and friends. Riding in the woods, especially during the fall, was a relaxing activity for him. Going to the casino was also his special retreat.
Jigger is survived by: his wife Marlene; his children Orlin Delabrue and Yvonne (Bill) Mazzeffi; his grandchildren Matt Shiroma, Charles Delabrue and Maxine Delabrue; his brothers Ronnie (Doris) Delabrue and Orland (Romaine) Delabrue; his goddaughter Julie Delabrue; his godson Patrick Delabrue; his brother-in-law Ronnie (Cor) Dickie; his sister-in-law Nettie Waupoose; his cat and pal, Alley. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents Charles and Mary Jane; his brother Clyde (Janet) Delabrue; his nieces Karen Delabrue, Gigi Delabrue and Treva Delabrue; his nephews Dondi Dickie and Michael J. Waupoose; his sister-in-law Janice Lee Dickie.
A funeral service for Jigger will be held on Saturday April 22, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Deacon Mark Fuller officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home until the time of service. Burial will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery.
