Misti Marie Kosnicki, age 31 of Shawano, passed away Friday, February 24, 2012. Born on November 19, 1980, she was the daughter of Keith and Joan (Mailahn) Kosnicki. Misti was a graduate of the Shawano High School class of 1999. After graduating, she furthered her education by becoming a CNA and had worked at Maple Lane Health Care Center for 9 years. Misti was very gifted when working with developmentally disabled people. When not at work, Misti enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and boating. She also had a huge love of animals. Misti is survived by: her parents, Keith and Joan Kosnicki of Shawano; 2 grandmothers, Kathleen "Mimi" (Jerry) Bucher of Shawano, Joan Kosnicki of Shawano; great-grandparents, Gordon & Hazel Shannon, Ben & Adeline Kosnicki, Paul & Rita Bently; her significant other, Renee Popovich; aunts and uncles, Mark & Kathy Jo Mailahn, Lisa & Rodney "Bear" Erdmann, Brian (Sherri) Kosnicki, Maribeth & Kim Theusch, Craig & Sara Kosnicki, Kevin & Denise Kosnicki; and numerous cousins. Misti was preceded in death by: her 3 grandfathers, Charles Mailahn, Charles Brunmeier, Ronald Kosnicki; and her great-grandparents, Gordon & Hazel Shannon, Ben & Adeline Kosnicki and Paul & Rita Bently. Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with the Rev. Marty Black officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4pm until the time of the service.
