IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mitchell J.
"Deeze" Maskewit, Iii.
December 27, 1976 – October 15, 2024
Mitchell Joseph "Deeze" Maskewit, III, age 47, passed away on Tuesday October 15, 2024, at his home in Keshena. Mitchell was born on December 27, 1976, in Shawano to the late Carl "Chummy" and Sharon (Winneshiek) Maskewit, Sr. Mitchell fought a long-time battle with diabetes, which eventually led to kidney failure. Mitchell appreciated everyone's helping hands, kind words and mostly just sitting with him. He enjoyed reminiscing of past and present happenings and his contagious joking and laughing was an excellent trait of his. Mitchell's words were always sincere, meaningful, and thoughtful and he was known for his big smile and his famous phrases "rubbish" and " indeed". He was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle, and friend; he will be deeply missed.
Mitchell is survived by those very involved in his life: his daughter, Talise Matchapatow, two grandchildren; siblings, Linda Maskewit, Mary Tomow, Sharon Maskewit, and John (Lynette) Maskewit, Sr.; his most important friend who was taken under Mitchell's wing, Sir Patrick "Pat" House; nephews and nieces, Dale Boivin, Jr., Raphael "Ray" Boivin, Jr., Daniel Tomow, Jr., Jojo Kitson, Danielle Tomow, Jody Boivin, and Kandice (Maskewit) Tomow; great-nieces and great-nephews, Joseph Tomow, Knighton Peters, Dale Boivin, III., Mitchell (Maskewit) House, Sydney Tomow, Vivianne Boivin, Leila Peters, Deja Peters, and Jade Boivin; and great-great-niece and great-great-nephew, Aven Waukau and Brian Waukau. He is further survived by notable friends and family, Haskell Pamanet, and Alan "P-nut" Tomow, Sr., as well as numerous other relatives and friends, including special cousin John A. Boyd III.
Mitchell is preceded in death by his parents, Carl, Sr., and Sharon; maternal grandparents, Frank and Jane (O'Kimosh) Winneshiek; paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Mary (Beauprey) Maskewit, Sr.; brothers, Carl Maskewit Jr., and Jacob (Debra Cardish) Maskewit Sr; and brother-in-law, Daniel "Boone" Tomow, Sr.
Traditional services will begin at noon on Thursday October 17, 2024, at the Maskewit Residence, N276 Max Martin Road, Keshena and conclude with drumming at 10:00 am on Saturday October 19, 2024.
