Obituary

Myron A. "Chummy" Wayka, Sr., age 65, of Neopit, started his journey at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 26, 2020. Myron was born on September 8, 1954, in Keshena, to the late Ernest, Sr. and Louise "Marie" (Waupoose) Wayka. In 1972 he graduated from Gresham High School. On June 12, 1976, Myron was united in marriage to Barbara L. Pyawasit at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit. Chummy worked at the MTE Mill on the green chain and then maintenance at the Menominee Tribal School. Chummy enjoyed his time as a softball player and coach for Marie's Bombers. He was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. He enjoyed the outdoors, riding in the woods, and going to the casinos.

Myron is survived by: his wife, Barb; his children, Deanna (Robert, Sr.) Rouillard of South Dakota, Myron Wayka, Jr. of Neopit, Ernest (Marrietta) Wayka of Neopit, and April (Mik) Wayka of Green Bay; his eight grandchildren, Robert Rouillard, Jr., Ariel Rouillard, Jaylen Rouillard, Kendra Webster-Wayka, Shuniqua Webster-Wayka, Makenzie Webster-Wayka, Peyton Webster-Wayka, and Kae Hill; his great-granddaughter, Neala Rouillard; his siblings, Dorla Boivin, Caroline Caldwell, Deneane (Miles) Tourtillott, Daniel Wayka, Sr., Richard Wayka, Sr., and Janell Wayka; and brother-in-law, Lawrence "Sonny" (Linda) Pyawasit. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his siblings, Ernest Wayka, Jr., Daryl James, Marvin Wayka, Sr., John Wayka, Karen Sackatook, Deborah Wayka, Ronald Wayka, and Curtis Wayka, Sr.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel and Eleanor Pyawasit; and his sisters-in-law, Renita Pyawasit, Myrtle Pyawasit, Roberta Escalante, and Theona Pyawasit.

Visitation for Myron will be held at the family residence, W6473 Wild Rice Court, Neopit, from 1:00 pm on Monday, March 30, 2020 until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. A funeral mass and burial will take place after the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.
