Noemi "Mae" Block, age 59, of Shawano passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 in Shawano. Noemi was born in Davao City, Republica ng Pilipinas, on July 5, 1958, the daughter of the late Marciano N. and Catalina (Timogtimog) Sanchez. She was a graduate of the International Harvardian University in Davao City. Noemi met her future husband, Peter Block, while he was stationed at Clark Air Base in the Philippines and they were married on June 14, 1983. Noemi was a loving and caring mother, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was friendly and outgoing. She loved being around people and enjoyed her time with family, friends, and co-workers. Noemi also enjoyed shopping, especially for others. She had a passion for music and loved singing, dancing, and playing guitar. Noemi was an active member of River Valley Church in Shawano.
Noemi is survived by: her husband of 34 years, Peter; four children, James and Laura Block of Weston, Phillip Block of Sun Prairie, Kevin Block of Sun Prairie and Brian and Erika Block of Greenfield; two grandchildren, Helo and Victoria Block of Weston; her siblings, Ruben Sanchez of Davao City, Ruth and Brian Blaha of Shawano, Noel and Grace Sanchez of the Philippines, Debbie and Tim Block of Moreno Valley, CA, John and Veronica Campbell, and Jordan Block; as well as father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elroy and Joan Block of Bonduel. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Osias, Benjamin and Esther; and brother-in-law Joseph Block.
Funeral services for Noemi will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at River Valley Church in Shawano with Rev. Dan Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm and again on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
