Nolan A. Mahkimetas, age 44, of Shawano passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021. Nolan was born on March 26, 1977, to Jane Mahkimetas and the (late) Hector Gallarzo in Chicago, IL.  Nolan resided in the Chicago area, graduating high school there and moved to Keshena in 1995.  Nolan was a line cook, working at a local restaurant, and that is where he was able to share his love for cooking.  He not only enjoyed cooking at work but also at home, where he perfected his favorite recipes and shared them with those he loved.  Nolan enjoyed spending time with his family, but also enjoyed playing video games in his free time with his nephew Xavier.

He will be missed by all who loved him.

Nolan is survived by his mother, Jane Mahkimetas; siblings, Steven Tubby, Chayan (Jackie) Alamos, Yolanda (Robert) Shawanookasic, Angelica (Charles) Tourtillott; aunt, Tracy (Bill) Waukau; #1 favorite nephew, Xavier Tourtillott, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nolan is preceded in death by his father, Hector Gallarzo, and several aunts and uncles.

A traditional native service will be held at the Fr. David Barrett Hall in Keshena at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Visitation will be on Monday, July 19, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
