Miller
July 25, 1952 – December 26, 2019
Norbert Miller, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, exemplified his 67 winters on mother earth before beginning his journey to the spirit world on December 26, 2019 with his family by his side. Onī Kaew Mo.hkata.qsow – He who makes camp. He who does carpentry work.
Norbert was born on July 25, 1952, to the late Benjamin and Anna June (Tebeau) Miller. Norbert was a graduate of Shawano High School and Fox Valley Technical College where he honed his skills to become a master carpenter. Upon graduation he joined the carpenters union where he used his skills in building homes. Norbert established two businesses, K&M woodcraft and Kenah Mecem, convenience store in Neopit. Norbert was a proud member of the Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin where he spent the majority of his life with his wife, Emmeretta, and daughter, Dory. Norbert had an avid interest in the land and the forest of the Menominee Indian Reservation. Hunting, fishing, conservation, protection of the land of the Menominee ranked high in Norbert's life. Norbert also enjoyed sausage making and smoking fish. He was a Golden Glove Champion and started the Stockbridge-Munsee Boxing Club.
Norbert is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Emmeretta; his daughter, Dory (Robert Carlson) Miller; his siblings, Adrian (Lynnette) of Keshena, Rendell (Carolyn) of Green Bay; Brenda (Chester) Gauthier of Neopit, Dana (Valarie) of Boise, Idaho, David (Gina) of Keshena, Diana (John) of Madison, Keith of Wisconsin Dells, and Kevine of Neopit. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gene Miller.
A funeral service will be held for Norbert at 11:00 am on Monday, December 30, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Joel Jores officiating. Visitation will be held after 4 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Neopit Community Center until the time of services on Monday.
