Norman Paul Peterson, age 80, of Keshena, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Green Bay. Norman was born in Keshena on April 24, 1936, the son of the late Roy and Louise (Mahkimetas) Peterson. He served our country in the United States Army. On September 6, 1986, he was united in marriage to Helen Corn in Keshena. Norman lived in Menominee County all his life, and worked at Menominee Tribal Enterprises for 42 years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Neopit and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and going to the casino.
Norman is survived by: his wife, Helen; seven children, Tony (Vanessa) Waukau, Dolph (Charmaine) Peterson, Tina (Keith Webster) Peterson, Joseph Melotte, Roger Isham, Tom Harrison, and Jessica Zepeda; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four siblings, Lucille Surprise, Annette Latender, Roy (Linda) Peterson, and Amber (Romy) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Annie, his parents, two brothers, Charles and Lyle, and three sisters, Alice, Rita, and Evelyn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Peterson residence, W2926 Rabbit Ridge Road in Keshena. Military Rites will be conducted by the Veterans of the Menominee Nation and Keshena American Legion. Visitation will be at the Peterson residence from 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 until the time of the service on Thursday.
