IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Omia Louise
Knudsen
January 28, 1962 – November 17, 2024
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Omia Louise (Weezie) Knudsen 62 of Cecil, WI went home to be with our Lord, Sunday November 17th, 2024
We come today to celebrate her life and the happiness she brought to our lives. Though sadden of the loss of her physical presence we carry her in our hearts and memories that which keeps her spirit alive until we meet again for eternity. Omia was born January 28, 1962, in Waukegan, IL. She was raised Zion, IL and lived in Wisconsin most of her adult life, planting roots in Cecil some 30 years ago where she raised the love of her life, her son James.
She is survived by her fiancé Tony Lasater of Pensacola, FL Her son James (Saria) grandchildren Liam age 3 and Violet due to arrive in February 2025, of Cecil, WI
Her mother Mattie (Butler) Bradfield of Marietta, MS; brother Brian Cartwright (Daphne) of Marietta, MS and nephews Robert and Josh both of Texas; sister Elaine Cartwright of Marietta, MS; her sister Betty Avil of Beach Park IL; brother Danny Cartwright (Kathy) of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and Larry Cartwright of Beach Park, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Hershel Berry "Huckleberry" Cartwright; her paternal grandparents, Lundy Benford and Ester Naomi "Oma" Cartwright; her maternal grandparents Clovis R. "Hull" Butler and Nancy Irlene, (Michael) Butler; her brother's Hershel Eugene Cartwright and Jack Wade Archer; uncle's Paul Eugene Butler and James Harold Butler.
Omia spent most of her life in service. She worked as self-contractor cleaning houses, working as server and bartender. She also worked as caregiver at a nursing facility for seniors, which she loved because of the people she cared for. When not working she enjoyed fishing, watching football (Go Packers). She enjoyed traveling and boating, rather it be on a freshwater lake or on the open salty waters of the ocean. She liked to garden and plant flowers, canning her fresh veggies and cooking for her friends and family. What she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her family and her animals on the farm. Weezie never met a stranger. If you knew her or met just her once you would never forget her and she would never forget you. She loved life and loved to make people laugh. Her outlook on life was to live and love because life is so busy, so make sure to take time to enjoy it. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be forgotten.
