Obituary

Patricia Ann "Pat" Murphy, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 13, 2024 in DePere, Wisconsin at the age of 86. Pat was born in Shawano, Wisconsin on August 1, 1937 to the late Milton and Clara (Norton) Krueger.  Pat graduated from Shawano High School and later studied Hospitality Management at Fox Valley Technical College.  Pat and her first husband, Maynard Bahr, raised five wonderful children together.  She was an amazing woman, a dedicated mother and a doting grandmother, and she loved spending time with her family.  In her free time she enjoyed  gardening, reading, sewing, crafting, cooking, baking, and traveling, including trips to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Aruba and numerous places across the United States.  She spent several winters in Lake Havasu, Arizona.  She never shied away from a chance to learn something new.  She was very proud to have opened her own restaurant, Copper Kettle.  She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Shawano Lionness.  She was a former Cub Scout leader and taught Sunday school at St. John in Pulcifer for many years.  Later in life, Pat met her soulmate, Marvin "Marv" Murphy and they were united in marriage on September 9, 2000.  They built a beautiful home on the Oconto River and enjoyed their little slice of heaven together until Marv's passing in 2014.  Pat's presence brought light and joy to so many lives.  She was a wonderful combination of softness, strength, and kindness.  She had a heart of gold, with her arms and her door always open.  Her house was full of love, laughter, and treats for whoever came to visit.  Pat was the epitome of everything you'd want in a mother and grandmother.  She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Left to cherish Pat's memory are: her children, Steve (Kathy) Bahr, Brenda (John) Schuelke, Debra Bahr, Jim (Dawn) Bahr, and Kevin (Sheila) Bahr; grandchildren, Heather (Chris Goke) Van Kooy, Brian (fiancé Lindsay Pockat) Bahr, Josh (Tricia) Marohl, Katie (Neil) Crider, Brooke (Billy) Calkins, Emily (fiancé Preston Mullins) Bahr, Briana (Rashid) Ghbein, Logan (Stacie Polarek) Bahr, Samantha (Michael) Johnson, Rachel Bahr, and Justin Bahr;  14 great grandchildren, Jack, Madeline, Lucy, Simon, Allison, Rilynn, Chase, Charlize, Frances, Edison, Lila, Katie, Noah, and Ada; two brothers, Mike (Sandra) Krueger and Wesley Krueger. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Murphy, a great granddaughter, Lauren Jean Marohl, former husband Maynard Bahr, her parents, and siblings, Fred Krueger, Mickey Krueger, Mae Ebelt, Helen Hintz, Shirley Smith, Edwin Krueger, and a sister in infancy.

A memorial service for Pat will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bonduel.  Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30am until the time of the service.  Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, as it was near and dear to Pat's heart.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Jack and Ingrid Meng Residence Hospice House for their kindness and loving care.
