Obituary

Patricia Ann (Lorge) Paiser passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 18th, 2022, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease and Lewy Body Dementia.

Pat was born on December 9, 1949 in Iola, Wisconsin to Duane and Durane (Roloff) Lorge, the oldest of five children.  She attended St. Mary's Grade School in Bear Creek, followed by four years of high school at the Franciscan Order Pre-Novitiate, now the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion.  Following graduation, Pat left the convent and began working as an administrative assistant and legal secretary in the State Legislature.  During her time there, she became very proficient in the legal field, eventually leading her to her long-term career performing paralegal work.

In October of 1969, Pat was united in marriage to Robert L. Knudtson of Madison.  The couple welcomed their son, Robert J. Knudtson, on April 8, 1975.  Rob has always been the joy of Pat's life; her love for, and pride in him, was unsurpassed.

On June 13, 1997, Pat met the love of her life, Dale W. Paiser.  After a whirlwind courtship, Pat and Dale were married on August 30, 1997.  The two were inseparable during their 25 years together; traveling, taking day trips, fishing, and putting love and care into the multiple gardens on their property.  Pat cherished her time with family and friends above all else, especially the annual trip to Pickerel in July.  She loved taking the boat out, fishing on the lake, and playing games with family and friends into the late night.  The only thing that would take her away during that trip was her love of gardening.  She and Dale meticulously kept their gardens of berries, flowers and vegetables to yield the best of everything often sharing with friends, family and those in need.

Pat will be greatly missed by her devoted family, including her husband of 25 years, Dale; son Rob (Melissa) Knudtson and granddaughters Emma and Sara of Huntington Beach CA; stepson Bruce Paiser of Oconto Falls; siblings Terry (Lynn) Lorge of Clintonville, Lynn McGinty of Bear Creek, Debra (Wayne) Brady of rural Gresham, and Kathleen (Mark) Kraeger of rural Marion.  Pat is further survived by many loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.  Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Durane, and her brother-in-law, Leo McGinty.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 6, 2023 at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham with Fr. Timothy Machila officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Thursday, January 5, 2023 and again on Friday at 9:30 am at the church until the time of service. Burial will be at Roosevelt Cemetery in the spring.

The family wishes to thank special caregivers Dawn Papendorf and Amy Olson; ThedaCare Hospice staff, especially Kristy, Jolene, and Chaplain Stuart, for their excellent care and compassion.
