Paul Robert Hintz, age 65, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 21, 1961, in Antigo, Wisconsin to the late Ervin Hintz and Constance Birkholz. Paul graduated from Bonduel High School and lived most of his life in the Shawano area.

Paul was united in marriage on February 6, 1982, to Sue Koeller at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. They were blessed with four amazing children, Jenny, Corey, Amy and Heidi. He worked many years as a mechanic at Shawano Service Center and was a driver at Menominee Transit, where he had to retire due to health issues. Paul was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved camping, singing, dancing, playing cards, hanging out with friends and family and going on UTV rides. He was truly the life of the party.

Paul is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sue Hintz; children, Jennifer (Shane) Mentzel, Corey Hintz, Amy Hintz and Heidi (David) Burris; brother, Pete (Lori) Hintz; sister, Mary (Ron) Laude; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Hintz and Constance Birkholz; stepfather, Vern Birkholz; stepmother, Grace Hintz; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lloyd and Rosemary Koeller.

A memorial service for Paul will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Lay Minister, Nancy Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
