Our Dad, Paul H. Recker, age 93, of Appleton, much loved father, passed away at Lakewood Assisted Living in Lakewood, WI on April 22, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born May 31, 1921, the son of the late Rose and Joseph Recker. He honored his country by serving in the US Navy during World War II for three and a half years. He was stationed in the South Pacific. On September 14, 1946 he married Anne J. Hubers and they made their home in Appleton. She preceded him in death on March 3, 1992. He was employed as a neon tube bender for a local sign company for over 48 years. He enjoyed participating and watching numerous sports over his lifetime, but golf was his true passion! In his later years, he took up wood carving and created many special pieces which we will have to remember him in the years to come. Paul is survived by his children: Clifford (Kim) Recker of Waunakee; Cliff's children, Allen Recker of Madison and Andrea Gevelinger of Three Lakes; Paula (Ken) Hartwig of White Lake; Ken's children, Julie (Allen) Last of Neenah and Shanen (Scott) Sadowski of Beaver Dam; 10 great grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Payton, Zoe, Emma, Tanner, Parker, Megan, Emma, and Aiden; two brothers, Mark Recker of Appleton and Carl (Eunie) Recker of Kimberly, as well as two grand dogs, Diamond and Beau (who spent a lot of time with dad) and numerous nieces and nephews. It was Dad's wish to leave this world in a rather quiet manner, therefore, we will not be having a funeral service. Please take a moment and remember "Our Very Special Dad"! Memorials can be directed to a charity of your choice. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Lakewood Assisted Living for the care you provided Dad during his stay the past two years.
